Fire Station Tours

Tours of your local fire stations are available upon request. Station tours last approximately 20 minutes and include a walk through the station, viewing the fire engine and fire fighting equipment, as well as talking to the firefighters about their job. The Big Spring Fire Department prefers to conduct these tours as a group and asks that you phone ahead to schedule a time. You may schedule a tour by calling the main office at 432-264-2303.

Tour Criteria

  • Fire station tours may be scheduled between the hours of 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. Evening tours are scheduled on an individual basis. All tour scheduling is dependent on station availability.
  • Tours should be scheduled at least thirty days in advance.
  • The minimum age for tour participants is five years.
  • There must be one adult chaperone for every five children touring the station.
  • Fire stations remain "in service" during tours. Fire companies may need to respond to emergencies at any time.  If they do, it will be necessary for the tour to end and your group to exit the station. Please keep this in mind while visiting.
